Liz and Arthur go to Hong Kong, Italy, France, UK and Sarawak in 2006

Monday 1/05
I have actually almost completed the packing for both Arthur and me.... amazing..... and there is still room for more!
Wednesday 3/5
I am still learning how to use this!! Thanks for all your comments and good wishes for our trip. Only 2 more sleeps!
Having enjoyed extended leave since February, I have finally decided there is life after TAFE and have just written out my retirement/exit notice which will take effect on 15 June.
Judy... a trip to Europe every year is a definite possibility for me too.... but we would both like to make an extended stay in Italy - perhaps 3 months or more?
6/05
I am typing this in Hong Kong airport, waiting for our flight on the London and Rome. Just had a fantastic time here (only one day) - walked our legs off even though it was like a sauna.... spent quite a bit of time up on The Peak where it was margininally cooler (at 1200ft it should be)....didn't do much actual shopping but the window shoppping was pretty amazing. All in all it is a pretty amazing place.
We were pretty impressed with the transport options - to start with we had a quick trip in from the airport on the airport express followed by a free bus trip to our hotel.
Then, they have these nifty narrow double decker trams on Hong Kong Island which you can ride as far as they go for 2HK dollars (about 40cents) each, but you have to have the exact change. We realised this after we had go on, and were discussing what to do when a local offered us the money!! We were very impressed and most grateful
Must go as we have to board. Next stop London (for 2 hours) then Rome.

looking forward to seeing how this works for you! Bon voyage!
Hi Liz & Arthur,
I guess my post did not stay yesterday. Anyway here goes again. Hopefully you are still having fun. I am looking forward to meeting Peter in London where we overnight flying out the next day to Split. I will leave my cell on on the 11th just in case you are in the area. We are staying Ermitage du Corton on 11th We arrive in Lyon at 1725 and will be picking up a rental car and driving to Beaune. The Cell number is the same as it is in Canada. I forgot to arrange the prepaid which as far as I know needs to be done before arriving in the country. I have tried unsuccessfully in the past to get prepaid local sims and you have to have a local credit card to be able to purchase them! I leave Tuesday and am madly trying to finish up some painting here.
